 Good Design That's Not Sublime

    First off, what does sublime mean? It is something that is overly amazing and beyond human comprehension. The first thing that pops into my head is robots. I think this is because they can do many tasks without ever requiring human thought. I also think of the word extra. Very over the top and bold. These ideas/ designs do not want to blend in. They want to catch people's eye. 

    Something that is not sublime would be something that you use and do not even think much about. One thing that would not be sublime is a laptop or a car. This is because these are overly complex and use advanced technology. 

Starting a car

    Something that used to be a much longer process. You would have to put your car key in your car and manually turn the key. Nowadays, in most cars, you use a push start. This is a subtle design idea that isn't glorified enough to be noticeable. This is very convenient to the people driving. You don't need to find your keys to start your car. This was something that helped out many.

Keep your drink cold

    Ever need to keep your drink cold? Well, you're lucky! Yeti coolers can keep your drink cold even when it is out of the fridge. This is a simple design that has helped out many. This is not a design that is overwhelming to people and it is easy to use. This was a new idea and is an amazing invention.

Automatic Trunk Button

    Ever had your hands full and weren't able to shut the trunk. Good news for you! There is a button to help you do this. It is not flashy and it helps you do a simple task. This isn't visibly too complex and that doesn't make you think much about it. This lets you do more while you do not even realize it. 

Trunk Opener (Walmart 2023)

There are many good ideas in this world that are not over the top and flashy. You use them in your everyday life and you do not even realize it. That is the point of these designs. They do not want them to stand out because you have to think about it. They are designed to help you do simple tasks with little to no brain power.
